The community has seen a few changes!

Now that the movie is complete, everyone is free to post to this community. If you have any feedback or questions or anything else, go for it! I, as your internet-addicted moderator, will do what I can to service you in a timely manner! (No wank pls, for modly wrath shall fall upon thee like tentacles on a Japanese schoolgirl! Iyaaaaan, sempai~) Maybe if the comm gets busy enough, El Director will actually get an LJ! But don't count on it.

While I'm posting, here's a shout-out to the cast and crew! If you want to be listed on the website, please write me a stupid little profile! I know some of you have got to have some websites or something that could milk the publicity! And others of you who are just plain attention whores! Not to mention that you deserve the credit! C'mon, you know you wannaaaaaa~

Also, as long as I'm posting, I'll answer a few questions pre-emptively:

Is the movie really done or are you just filthy liars?

A from column A, a little from column B... I could sit here all day and rationalize each and every delay and technical error. I could even make empty promises that will only be crushed like the Heartless and Nobodies I'll be fighting instead of fulfilling them. I won't do that either. I -will- say that the movie is basically done except for two annoying bugs, and, providing that two hundred more bugs don't crop up in the compiling (knock on wood), it should be in a downloadable state before I pack up and head out to Oregon next month. Hopefully.

So how can I watch it, then?

Right now, you can subscribe to Ilpacock on YouTube. Yes, that's me. I wasn't actually expecting to use that account for anything, and the name is just... kind of like... an inside joke... thing. *cough* Anywho! I will be uploading the entire thing in segments. Chapters 00/01 are sloooooowly uploading right now. I know people have been waiting a very long time for the full version, but... well... it's not ready yet. Like I said, two more bugs to fix, and then MAYBE, HOPEFULLY, the world won't end in time for this to get torrented.

Can I show this at a con?

PLEASE DO! Drop us a line and we'll see that you get a copy. Maybe we'll even send you a DVD labeled with a nice, official Sharpie! We showed the movie at last year's Anime Nebraskon, and Tony will be bringing it to this year's Anime Iowa. I will be attending Kumoricon this year, but no plans have been made there... yet!

Will I be able to download the full version of One Winged Sexy (aka the Sexyroth theme song)?

You sure will! As soon as Tony rips it.

Who can I contact in regards to stuff and things not mentioned here?

Myself (uncreativity) and Tony "El Director" Esquivel (esquivel_studios@hotmail.com) are in charge of this crazy project, and we can probably both tell you anything you might care to know, 'cause we both did a little bit of everything. In general, though, if you're more curious about the casting, writing, and overall organizational processes that went on, Tony might be able to accommodate you a little better than I can. However, if you want to know about the current stage of the project (the website, this comm, or the distribution) or technical bits, I'm your girl!

So, ah. Progress. Progress. I could probably give a progress report......

OR I could throw out the YouTube link for Sephiroth Sexar's theme song and run!

It's been awhile! As I said on the website, it's because we've actually been working on it!

And what a crazy ride it's been... endless frustrations, sleepless nights, drama... all that good stuff! But I'm happy to say that the Esca project is a good 90% done! (I hope!)

We've premiered a couple of test runs at Anime Nebraskon and at our anime club. The volume problems have been worked out, I think, and it all came together pretty well... at this point, this is what I have left to do:

  • Replace Scene 4 with the new one (That's the one with the Pokemon World sequence - to those of you who watched it in anime club, I accidentally showed you the wrong one - the updated scene has fixed volume levels and Smeagol singing a little fish song)

  • Re-export scene 15-16 to have the missing text layer (oops)

  • Subtitle the Sexy Winged Angel sing-along

  • Credit sequence & SEKRIT SECOND ENDING

  • Hentai scene

  • Put all of the clips together, reduce filesize to something reasonable

  • Somewhere along the way, make a new trailer

Well, we just got Anthy finished recording last night!

At this point, the only characters we HAVEN'T gotten fully recorded are Dillodo, Gaylord Foker, Escaflowne, and some bit parts. And that's it.

Racing the clock to AnimeIowa! Hopefully I'll be able to put together a better trailer tonight with clips from the actual dub!

ALL of the character bios are now done and up! (I guess that means I gotta update with clips and stuff next time!)

As for actual progress, we put together a sample scene (still missing some musical tracks and voices, but just to try it), and we're working the kinks out! All is well in dubland, lalalaaa~~~~

Despite my unhealthy perfectly normal obsession with CFUD, I managed to update! (yay, woo, go me!)

Major updates are the character page of Moped, Bus's dead puppy, and Sephiroth's page, which is really, really, really long now!

There have been some grammar fixes to stuff previously on the site, but I didn't particularly feel like reading through proofreading the new stuff, so it's straight from Tony and if it's wrong, it's his fault!

As for actual dub progress, it is going well! Almost all of Bus's lines have been recorded, huzzah! We may get this done yet!

Hello, everyone! Welcome to the Catastrophe of Escaflowne update journal, so that you might not have to check the website every day for each glorious update! :D

In my newest update, I put up the About page and a cast profile for the director/writer guy. Hooray for that! Other than that, the site currently has a few character and cast bios, and downloadable teaser.

I plan on updating the website consistently until the project is finished (hopefully by next fall).

Feel free to reply with any questions, comments, or suggestions!
